Tasmanian Election - East Coast

Today we departed Launceston after an early start of cutting brochures. We jumped in the van and began the road trip down to Swansea where we met up with the Premier and candidate for Lyons John Tucker. It was great to meet the Premier and have a chat to him. We then helped him with his visit to Swansea before heading to Bicheno where we proceeded to letterbox and door knock in aid of the campaign.

The scenery was amazing on the Great Eastern Drive, A’s we got amazing views of the ocean and the mountains. We joined up with 4 of the 5 candidates for Lyons at a local bakery. Candidates Mark Shelton and Guy Barnett were great to see again after having helped them out yesterday in the towns of Longford, Evandale and Perth.

Following this we did a blitz on the towns of St Marys, Fingal and Avoca, where we continued to letterbox and door knock meeting many of the great residents of rural Tasmania and hearing about both their issues and their support for the premier and their local candidates.

We then found ourselves back in Launceston, where we helped Michael Ferguson with some wobble boarding during “peak hour” in Launceston.

It was an extremely fulfilling day and looking forward to the many more to come this week.
